www.Turfonline.co.uk is Harrowden Turf Ltd’s main B2C e-commerce website. This summer it has had a complete rebuild and a whole new website design.
Working with the branding experts and website developers at Brave Creative the new site has been created using a scientific approach.
“We wanted our flagship website to reflect Harrowden Turf’s brand values of simplicity, efficiency and transparency. But we didn’t want to lose the story of how the Company began.” said Director Stuart Ridd-Jones. “We also needed to offer value to the customer and a good ROI to the business.”
The first step in the design process was to take a good long look at the customer journey. What do our customers need from our website and how do we make it easy for them to find that information?
The vast majority of Turfonline customers are there to purchase turf and lawncare products. We devised a simple step by step process to guide website visitors through the decision making process.
Clever online tools such as the turf calculator and the turf selector were incorporated. That way visitors can get on with their tasks even when the office is closed and there’s no-one to ask for advice. They can be ordering at 2 oclock in the morning if they need to.
Then came the aesthetics; giving a modern, streamlined feel to such a traditional product wasn’t easy. Director Angela Mackay and our in-house graphic designer Tim Button worked closely with the team at Brave Creative on the imagery, layout and text.
Search Engine Optimisation is something that Harrowden and Brave Creative considered at all stages of the design and build – and indeed it’s ongoing. Content is updated weekly. The website is mobile responsive and works well across all devices and browsers. It’s quick to load and easy to navigate with simple, clear language and no frills. But don’t take our word for it……take a look for yourself at www.turfonline.co.uk
